I was born in Salford, Lancashire, the eldest of two children. I received an elementary education leaving school at age 15 when I started work in the building industry. I later joined the Police Force serving for 31 years in what is now the Greater Manchester area.
I have been married to Joy, for 45 years and we have seven grown up children and seventeen grandchildren. We are both committed and active Christians.
When I began farming I was shocked to discover that the industry is controlled totally by the European Union and not by our own elected Parliament. I then found that much of our government has been surrendered to the E.U and that Britain is largely controlled by a foreign power and is being made into a small part of an undemocratic federal European state without the knowledge or consent of the people. I am heartily sick of the dishonesty that permeates politics in Great Britain and would like the opportunity to do some thing about it
I found that the main political parties are complicit in the surrender of our country to the E.U. and that the only opposition comes from UKIP. I joined the Party in 2005 with the hope that we may prevent the destruction of our country.
I oppose the proliferation of windfarms in North Wales and the removal of powers from local government which permit it. I am concerned about the poor performance of some of our education authorities and question why spending per pupil in Welsh schools is 8% lower than in England and why our health service seems so much worse. I believe that more could and should be done to strengthen the Welsh language and culture.
