Born in Birkenhead in 1937 I practiced Law in the community in Newport up until retirement which I spend with my wife of many years.
I have for over 40 years supported Newport Playgoers society and am currently a vice president of the board of Trustees, we provide without any annual subsidy a 400 seater theatre for over 20 voluntary and community organisations in the Newport area. I am also a company director of Ballet Wales and assist both them and the Gwent ballet Theatre.
I was a founder member of UKIP and represented the party in the 1995 Islwyn by-election the first in Wales to stand for UKIP in a parliamentary constituency, the party has of course grown substantially since those early days.
My belief is that the people of our country deserve a fair and democratic country which for better or worse governs itself in a democratic fashion, it can only be wrong that our laws are now mainly drafted and passed by those in Brussels who are unelected by us and who now rule our lives without check or consequence.
