David W Rowlands

David_W_Rowlands.jpgBorn in 1934 of a longstanding Montgomeryshire family, educated in Shrewsbury school and Trinity Hall Cambridge, gaining an MA in Rural Estate management and post graduate diploma Economics of Land Use. I am a qualified FRICS and spent 20 years within the water industry before entering becoming a farmer.

I have previously been Chairman of Montgomeryshire council and its finance committee, as well as chairing many other local bodies including the Primary and High school Governors association, the governing body of the Church in Wales, the Montgomery Football League and was also a member of the Broadcasting Council for Wales.

I was a founder of member of UKIP and was their first candidate in Wales contesting mid and West Wales in the 1994 European elections. Since then I have contested Westminster, European and Welsh assembly elections for the party and will continue to do so in the belief that UKIP’s full range of domestic policies allied with withdrawal from the EU can restore faith amongst Montgomeryshire voters that we can govern ourselves in a fairer, more competent and ultimately more democratic manner.
